First Grade Friday News - April 8

 

Chapel offerings through April 10 will go to Habitat for Humanity.  We will raise money to help build a home for a family here in Little Rock.

The children will take the Iowa Test of Basic Skills this week.  Please make sure that your child is on time to school each day.  Children should get plenty of rest and have a good breakfast.  We will work on a portion of the test each morning.  There will be no reading or math homework this week.  We will have a spelling test as usual on Friday.  Please help your child practice for the spelling test at home.  Children are also still responsible for reading at least one AR book this week.

I hope that parents can join us for one or both of our final two field trips.  On April 15, grades k-3 will spend the day at the P. Allen Smith Farm at Roland.  On May 7, our Nature Club (kdg. and 1^st grade) will go to the Nature Center downtown and picnic at Riverfront Park.  All parents are welcome.  Let me know if you can help drive.

Week of Apr. 8         Iowa Test of Basic Skills (Please do not make any appointments this week.  All children must be present for testing each morning.)

Fri., Apr. 12               Book orders due (Pay by check to Scholastic Books or order online.)

Mon., Apr. 15             Field trip to P. Allen Smith Farm

Tues., May 7              Field trip to Nature Center
