Our Favorite Books

Each first grader brought a favorite picture book to school along with an object to go with the book.  We read the books aloud and listened while each student explained their object.  There were stuffed animals - a  pig, a cat, a duck, and a crab.  Sleeping Beauty, Barbie, and Spiderman made an appearance, too.  Two children brought model airplanes and one brought a small globe.  One child brought two snakes - plastic, of course.  We even had a tissue to go along with the book, The Flea's Sneeze.  We drew pictures about our books and wrote a sentence to go with it.

I am so excited about beginning this school year.  All the teachers are back at school and busy getting our classrooms ready.  I hope to see all my first graders on registration day, Wednesday, August 8.  Bring your school supplies and come to the classroom.  You can find your desk and look around the classroom.  Also, don't forget about our CLS ice cream social on Thursday, August 9, at 6:00.
