Second Grade Friday News - January 30

Our chapel offerings this quarter will be used to buy cheerful items for the residents of Briarwood Nursing home.

Our “big” memory work for the third quarter is to name all the books of the Bible.  We are singing the song each day and most students will do better when they are tested if they sing the books rather than say them.  Let’s try to master the Old Testament books by mid February and then the New Testament by the end of the quarter.  They already know these pretty well from first grade.

I have entered your children’s AR grade into Renweb.  This shows the percentage of the total quarter goal that your child has completed so far.  We are just about half way through the quarter, so all children should be at about 50% of their AR goal.

On Friday, we will raise money to benefit Pat and Lawrence Dierks.  We will have a tag day and donate the proceeds to Pat and Lawrence.  However, I urge you to send more money as you are able to do so.  Pat has been in the hospital in Houston for nearly 3 months and has finally gained enough strength to be moved to a hospital here in Little Rock.  Both Pat and Lawrence are faithful workers for our school – Pat as a substitute teacher and volunteer and Lawrence on our maintenance staff.  Let’s show them how much we care.
