Winter Carrots

We are still harvesting carrots from our garden that we planted last September.  Just last week, we dug enough carrots for everyone to enjoy at snack time.  Here is a photo of a few of our gardeners.

100 Days of First Grade

Last week, we celebrated 100 days in first grade by making cereal necklaces.  Each child counted out 10 groups of 10 to make 100.  Here we are showing off our creations.

Feeding the Birds

We have been learning about birds in Nature Club this month.  We learned that God gave birds different kinds of beaks to allow them to eat different kinds of food.  We practiced being cardinals, ducks, and hummingbirds so that we could see how their beaks work.  This week, we made bird feeders using rice cakes, peanut butter, and birdseed.  We hung them in the courtyard so that we can observe the birds as they eat.  The birds must really appreciate our feeders during this cold, icy weather.
