First Grade Friday News - January 21

  

Chapel offerings during January will go to Heifer International.  We will start by buying a water buffalo to give to a family overseas. Water buffalos will provide families in need with milk and help in planting crops.  Send your banks back to school when they are full.

Dates to remember:

          Fri., Jan. 18           Book orders due (Order online or pay by check.)

Mon., Jan. 21         No school, Teacher professional development day

Wed., Jan. 30        Kindergarten and first grade lead chapel.  (Come and worship with us.)

Week of Jan. 27    National Lutheran Schools Week (Watch for information coming home soon.)

Spelling words:  far, farm, arm, art, cart, card, chin, inch, live, soon

(Most children need daily, written practice to do well on spelling tests.)

Religion:  Zacchaeus

Reading skill:  Setting

Math:  Doubles plus 1 addition facts, Adding two-digit numbers

Language/Writing:  Verbs, “Tell me more” sentences

Science/Social Studies: Martin Luther King, Groundhogs

Character Education:  Trustworthiness
